Society for conservation biology

SCB Kenya is a non-profit organization with a common agenda to: advance the science and practice of conserving Earth’s biological diversity.

Society for Conservation Biology was founded in 1986 by great conservation leaders such as E.O. Wilson, Thomas Lovejoy, and Michael Soule’. The African section of SCB grew from humble beginnings because of a meeting of thirty-five conservation scientists in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2001 with an aim of deliberating on conservation issues in Africa. We have partnered with various organizations who share our values and mission on conservation. These organizations include but not limited to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Kenya Forest Service (KFS) East African wildlife Society, Transfo green world, University of Eldoret, and Rift valley innovation center. It is our desire that we conserve the environment by involving every sector of the society, including children, the working class, the villagers, students and so forth.
